2023 - present - National Scientific Qualification (ASN) for Full Professor of Electronics.
2002 - present - Associate Professor at the “Mediterranea” University of Reggio Calabria, DIIES.
1992-2002 - Research activity at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and at the University "Roma Tre", DIE, Laboratory of Acoustoelectronics (ACULAB).

R. Carotenuto works on the development and theoretical modeling of ultrasonic positioning systems with application to man-machine interfaces, energy harvesting techniques for RFID and temperature management of power LEDs.

R. Carotenuto has participated in or directed several international and national projects.

Member of the Order of Engineers of Rome since 1994.
IEEE Member since 2000 and IEEE Senior Member since 2018.
Member of the Electronics Group and later the Electronics Company.
