AMODDEO Antonino

Born on 16/11/1960 in Reggio Calabria (RC), he is Associate Professor SSD MATH-04/A - Mathematical Physics at the University of Reggio Calabria, Department of Civil Engineering, Energy, Environment and Materials, via Zehender 1, loc. Degree in Physics obtained on 29/5/1986 at the University of Calabria, and PhD in Physics obtained on 30/9/92. Member of the GNFM of INdAM. Research fellow at the Department of Chemistry of Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Contract Professor of Physics from academic year 1992/93 to academic year 1994/95 ex art. 100 DPR 382/80, Faculty of Pharmacy and S.M.F.N., University of Calabria. Since the academic year 2006/07, he has been responsible for teaching and exercises in "Rational Mechanics", "Rational Mechanics and Introductory Elements of Mathematical Modeling", "Constitutive and Numerical Models for Engineering", "Soft Skills - Introductory Elements of Mathematical Modeling" for the Engineering degree courses; "Elements of Mathematics" for the Agriculture degree courses, "Institutions of Mathematics" for Architecture. Organizer and co-organizer of three international Conferences/Workshops and three national Conferences/Workshops. Participation in six international and national research projects, admitted to funding on the basis of competitive calls that include peer review. Recent research activity focuses on numerical models in anisotropic materials: dynamics of the order tensor in nematic liquid crystals subjected to mechanical and electrical stress; growth of tumor cells in the avascular phase, modeling of the interaction of SARS-CoV-2 with the immune system. Participation in 5 schools of Physics of Matter. Collaboration with national and foreign research centers. He is the author and/or co-author of 51 publications in international scientific journals and 48 contributions to international conferences.
