MOLINARO Antonella

Antonella Molinaro graduated in Computer Engineering from the University of Calabria in 1991. In 1992 she obtained a postgraduate Master’s diploma in Information Technology at the CEFRIEL research center / Politecnico di Milano, and in 1996 she earned a PhD in Multimedia Educational Technologies and Communication Systems from the University of Calabria.
From 1992 to 1993 she worked as a designer at the telecommunications company Telesoft S.p.A., in Rome. From 1994 to 1995 she worked at the research laboratories of Siemens A.G., Mobile Network Division, in Munich, Germany, holding a one-year contract as a “Commission of European Communities Fellow” within the mobility action of the RACE II research program.
In 1997 she was a contract researcher at the Department of Electronics and Computer Science of Politecnico di Milano. In 1998 she joined the University of Messina as an Assistant Professor in Telecommunications. In 2001 she moved to the University of Calabria in the same role.
In 2005 she joined the “Mediterranea” University of Reggio Calabria as an Associate Professor, where she currently holds the position of Full Professor. Since 2018 she has also been a Professor at CentraleSupélec, Université Paris-Saclay, with affiliation at the Laboratoire des Signaux et Systèmes (L2S), Gif-sur-Yvette, France.
Since 2014 she has been a founding member of “SMARTS s.r.l.”, a spin-off of the Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria, also recognized as an innovative start-up in the ICT sector.
