MILARDI Martino

Associate Professor of Architectural Technology at the Department of Architecture and Design (dAeD) of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria. He conducts research and teaching in the field of Architectural Technology. He deals with issues related to the use of low environmental impact technologies, investigating innovative ways to control building-context relationships.
In line with the statutes of the Scientific Disciplinary Sector and within the research areas of Sustainable Innovation, he addresses issues related to the management of building performance, with particular regard to the control of energy and material flows in building envelopes and technical solutions.
The in-depth study of these topics is verified by participation in various international and national research projects, which are eligible for funding on the basis of competitive calls for proposals.
Currently, in addition to his activities as Scientific Director of the TCLab Envelope Testing Research Laboratory, an advanced testing centre for building envelopes, he is involved in the following research projects: Tech4You “Technologies for climate change adaptation and quality of life improvement”. Spoke 4 - Technologies for resilient and accessible cultural and natural heritage. Research funded by the PNRR. Action 5 Manager: Certificate process of the data/indicators used to structure climate adaptation plans according to cognitive interfaces based on artificial intelligence and big data. He is Co-Scientific Director of the HORIZON 2020-NMBP-TO-IND-2018-2020 research project: “METABUILDING LABS”; PRIN PNRR Call 2022. Nature-based solutions using Green surfaces in buildings for resilient cities. Part of the experimentation will be carried out at the TCLab Envelope Testing facility.
The application characterisation and technology transfer of these activities are pursued through the co-creation of the university spin-off ‘APS srl’, as well as the filing of four patents.
