Curriculum Vitae

Martina Teresa Bevacqua received from the Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria, Italy, the M.S. Laurea degree (summa cum laude) in electronic engineering in July 2012 and the Ph.D. in Information Engineering in May 2016. From 2023 She is an Associate Professor at the Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria. Her research activity mainly concerns electromagnetic inverse problems, with particular interest in: 1) inverse scattering problems from both a theoretical and applicative point of view; 2) field intensity shaping in nonhomogeneous and unknown scenarios for biomedical and industrial applications.
Prof. Bevacqua was the recipient of the “Barzilai Award” from the Italian Electromagnetics Society in 2014, the “Honorable Mention” from the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (Central and Southern Italy Chapter) in 2016 within the best Student Member paper competition, the “Young Scientist Award” by the International Union of Radio Science in 2018 and 2023. Moreover, she also received the “Mojgan Daneshmand Grants” by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society in 2023 and the “IEEE Antenna and Propagation Society Ulrich L. Rohde Best Innovative Paper Awards” in 2023. She was also the recipient of the 2025 R. W. P. King Prize Paper Award from the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society.
From 2023 to 2024, she was also Vice-Chair of the IEEE Young Professional Affinity Group of the IEEE Italy Section. From 2024, she is Associate Editor of IEEE Journal of Electromagnetics, RF and Microwaves in Medicine and Biology and from 2025 member of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Technical Direction sub-Committee on Computational Electromagnetics.
