Curriculum Vitae
Francesco Mauriello is Associate Professor in CHEM-06/A – Chemical Foundations of Technologies at the Department of Civil, Energy, Environmental and Materials Engineering (DICEAM), Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria, Italy, where he carries out research, teaching, and scientific coordination activities in the fields of heterogeneous catalysis, green chemistry, circular economy, and sustainable technologies.
His research activity focuses on the development of innovative catalytic processes for the valorization of biomass, plastics, and complex waste streams, with particular emphasis on the sustainable production of chemicals, fuels, and high-value-added materials. He has developed interdisciplinary expertise in catalysis, photocatalysis, transfer hydrogenation, waste-to-chemicals strategies, and advanced recycling technologies.
He is author of more than 130 scientific publications in international journals, including Chemical Society Reviews, ACS Catalysis, Green Chemistry, Chem Catalysis, and ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering. He has coordinated and participated in several national and international research projects funded by MUR, PRIN, PNRR, and regional programmes, serving as Principal Investigator or research unit coordinator.
He carried out international research activities at Hokkaido University (Japan), RWTH Aachen University (Germany), and Queen’s University (Canada). He is member of the Governing Board of the Interdivisional Catalysis Group of the Italian Chemical Society and actively serves as editor and reviewer for several international scientific journals.
