MEDIATI Domenico

Domenico Mediati is Associate Professor of Drawing (SSD: CEAR-10/A) at the Department of Architettura e Design (dAeD) of the “Mediterranea” University in Reggio Calabria.
In 2002 he has attended a Ph.D. in “Survey and Representation of Architecture and Environment” at the “Federico II” University of Naples.
Since 2004, he has held numerous courses at the “Mediterranea” University of Reggio Calabria.
In 2005 he has obtained a research grant entitled “New geometries for the project”, at the Department of “Architettura e Analisi della Città Mediterranea”.
From 26 February 2014 to 18 September 2024 he has been the dArTe Department’s Delegate for the students with disabilities.
As of 2019, he is a member of the College of International Doctorate in Architecture.
On October 19, 2022, he was elected Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree Program in “Tecniche per l'edilizia e il territorio” (L-P01) for the period 2021-24.
On 5 November 2024, he was designated deputy coordinator of the Master's Degree Course in “Architecture” (LM-4 c.u.).
He is currently a lecturer of “Fundamentals of Representation” and “Architectural Survey” (degree course in “Architecture” LM-4).
He participates in numerous international and national research projects accepted for funding on the basis of competitive calls.
His research is directed toward the analysis of architecture and territory through drawing, integrating history, geometry and digital technologies. As well as numerous essays for conferences, seminars and journals, including seven in Class A, he has published the following monographs: “Palazzo Firrao. Misura e Forma di un monumento napoletano” (2002); “Santa Maria de’ Tridetti. Un restauro di Antonio Quistelli” (2003); “L’occhio sul mondo. Per una semiotica del punto di vista” (2008); “Masserie fortificate in Calabria” (2011); “Il disegno delle vibrazioni” (2014); “M.C. Escher in Calabria. Memorie incise di un viaggiatore olandese” (2019).
