MUSSARI Bruno

Degree in Architecture (1990), PhD (1996), directed research on architecture in Calabria in the Viceroyalty. Won a two-year post-doctoral scholarship (1997), on the application of architectural theories to fortifications in the 16th century. A researcher in History of Architecture since 2001, he has taught on courses in: Archivistics Diplomatics and Auxiliary Sciences of History (2002-2003), Archivistics (2002-2003), Themes and Writings of Architecture (2003-2004), History and Methods of Architectural Analysis (2002-2003)(2003-2004), Ancient and Medieval History (2004-2005/2005-2006/2009-2010/2011-2012/2012/2013-2024) and Ancient History (2006-2007/2007-2008/2009-2010/2013-2014/2014-2015/2015-2016/2016-2017/2017-2018), in the degree courses a in History and Conservation of Architectural and Environmental Heritage (three-year and specialised) of Architectural Sciences (three-year) of Architecture single-cycle (five-year). His research focuses on the history of architecture, the city and the territory. In these areas he has dealt with civil, religious and fortified architecture, as well as urban history, ranging from the 15th to the 20th century, in the contexts of southern and central Italy, in the analysis of the relationship between patrons, professionals, and workers, aimed at the production, adaptation and updating of architecture, and in the analysis of permanence and transformation in the evolution of the historical city. He has investigated unpublished and little-explored aspects of significant figures in the history of architecture between the 17th and 18th centuries, such as Giovan Battista Contini, Carlo Fontana, Ferdinando Fuga and Luigi Vanvitelli. From 2003 to 2011 he is a member of the editorial board of the journal ‘Quaderni del dipartimento PAU’, since 2013 he is Co-founder and member of the Steering Committee of the open access peer reviewed online scientific journal ‘ArcHistoR Architecture History Restoration’, included in: ESCI, WoS, ESF.
