CARIDI Andrea Domenico Maria F. A.

He graduated "cum laude" in Biological Sciences and achieved "cum laude" the Diploma as Specialist in Applied Microbiology at the University of Messina. From 23rd February 1988 to 29th February 2000, he held a researcher position in Agricultural Microbiology at the University of Reggio Calabria. From 1st March 2000, he holds an associate professor at the University of Reggio Calabria, SSD AGRI-08/A - Agricultural, food and environmental microbiology (formerly AGR/16). He was part of the Technology Transfer Commission of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria from 2016 (Rectoral Decree n° 183 of 19/7/2016) to 2019. He is a member of SIMTREA - the Italian Society of Agro-Food and Environmental Microbiology - since 1994, the year of its establishment. He contributed to the coordination and management of teaching activities at the Microscopy laboratory and the Basic Multifunctional Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture. He started, organised and managed a collection constituted by over 2,000 strains of selected autochthonous microorganisms. Its research has dealt with various aspects of food microbiology and agricultural microbiology, especially the selection of wine and dairy starters. Such activity has produced two chapters of international books, fifty-seven papers published on international journals with Impact Factor and many papers published on national journals. He was giving oral communications in international and national meetings and he has presented posters at international and national meetings. Total number of publications in peer review journals: 57.
