LOMBARDI Fabio

Fabio Lombardi, Ph.D in "Environment and Territory", is Associate Professor in “Forest Management and Silviculture” at the Dep. of AGRARIA of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria (Italy). He has pulished more than 100 scientific papers, of which 86 on Scopus (h-index 34), with 595 co-authors and 4045 total citations.
He is "Corresponding Member" of the “Italian Academy of Forest Sciences” and member of the “Italian Society of Forest Ecology and Silvicolture” (SISEF).
His research activities are focused on forest ecology at different spatio-temporal scales. He is expert on indicators of naturalness in forest ecosystems, focusing also on the study of old-growth forests. He often practices dendrochronological studies aimed to monitor the evolution of forest ecosystems, studying the ability of forests to adapt to ongoing climate changes.
He was National Scientific Manager of the FIRB 2012 - Future in Research - MIMOSE project: "Development of innovative models for the multiscale monitoring of ecosystem service indicators in Mediterranean forests" and scientific director of the FORBD Action of the Life+ ManFor CBD Project “Managing Forests for multiple purposes Carbon Biodiversity and socio-economic wellbeing”.
Fabio Lombardi is Review Editor of the journal Frontiers in Forests and Global Change - Temperate and Boreal Forests and member of the Editorial Board of the journal “Sustainability”. He is often referee of the following journals: PlosONE, Canadian Journal of Forest Research, Forest Ecology and Management, Journal of Forest Research, The Holocene, Tree Ring Research, Frontiers in Plant Science, Plant Biosystems, Journal of Ecology and the Natural Environment and iForest.
