The Evaluation Culture to Build a Network of Competitive Cities in the Mediterranean

The cities and urban areas are the engines for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, that is, the places where you play the game of global competition between local development systems. The role of cities in global competition brings with it a change of scale also in the system of relationships that the cities traditionally wove: this raises the need for their internationalization through the establishment of networks of transnational. This paper presents a hypothesis for a network of cities of Mediterranean that the city of Reggio Calabria (Italy) could promote to improve its competitive capability.
