SARLO Antonella Blandina

Graduated in Architecture, PhD in "Evaluation methods in urban and architectural design", she is Associate Professor in Urban Planning (SSD CLEAR 12/B) at the Department of Architecture and Territory of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria. She works on the forms and methods of governance of urban and territorial transformation processes, paying particular attention to urban dynamics and policies (European and national) aimed at territorial cohesion. The priority area of ​​study is the South. The approach to the city and the territory is interdisciplinary: territorial and urban systems are investigated as a result of the interaction between socio-economic dynamics and settlement processes, both within particular areas and regions and with respect to broader external contexts. This work is inserted in a perspective of national and international comparison, as demonstrated by the collaboration with national bodies and institutions and with international research institutes.
She is currently the head of the Urban Planning 2 laboratory in the fourth year of the Degree Course in Architecture.
Since 1998 she has been a member of the teaching staff of the following PhDs at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria: “Analysis and planning of the Mediterranean city” (1998-2008); “Architecture” (2008-2013); “Architecture and Territory” (2014-2015), “Architecture” (2016 to date). She has held teaching positions abroad and in third-level training (Masters, Higher Education Courses) and has been scientific supervisor of specialization theses.
