Percorsi formativi e Progetto della Modificazione. Le esperienze dei Laboratori didattici Progettare l’Esistente,

The aim of the institution of an experimental laboratory for the Final Dissertations in the Faculty of Architecture of Reggio Calabria; which principal theme was intended to be: "Planning the Existing", was to have an open confrontation with the contemporary architectural debate concerning the intervention on the existing heritage.
The experience undertaken had more general and wide intentions, besides the main achievement that was to be a planning integrated experience related to a single theme through a coordinated multi-subject teaching training:
- first of all to create a teaching offer linked to the present debate existing in the architectonic field and on the other hand,
- to establish a training experience based on the argument that the integration of different disciplines, that mark the boundaries of the architect, represents the main point of the architectural teaching, following the lines of the new teaching system of the Faculty of Architecture.
This experience that involved different teaching areas present in the Faculty such as Architectonic Restoration and Technology, was even more experimental than expected with regard to the possible results that could produce reflection and confrontation linked to the future organization of the Synthesis Laboratory previewed indeed by the new teaching system of the Faculty of Architecture.
Steps to undertake:
First part:
Theme: The architectonic heritage as a plan of modification and identity peculiarity.
Second part:
The experimental Synthesis Laboratory for the final Dissertation "Planning the Existing": a methodological proposal.
Third part:
Pre-existing: the architectonic manufacture and the urban set.
