Patrimonio costruito come risorsa culturale : esperienze didattiche di restauro architettonico

A way for the conservation of a natural architectural heritage, such as thatof the villages still existing in Aspromonte, can only be that of a systemof new functions concerning the field of reading knowledge, reading, andthe importance of the permanence of the sign; combined with a policyof enhancement, with new possible functions that place at the centerof the actions of protection architectural artifacts, witnesses of materialdecorative and architectural identities. «The landscape is the place wherehistory meets with work and nature with culture. The villages can be livingbooks in which the civilizations have written their history, are the productof the identity of a community and at the same time are also generatorsof belonging». Making system to connect, enhance, communicate,memories and knowledge through a network of laboratories and placesto communicate memory, culture, image, ancient knowledge, scenarios,landscapes. In this perspective, beyond the notions of protection, safeguardand enhancement of a precious heritage, the village must put themselvesat the center of a process that starts from an extensive knowledge of allexisting material and immaterial culture, to be lived, preserved but above allinnovating with heritage, restoration and enhancement. Places where learningand knowledge of identity are vehicles for the transmission of a materialand immaterial knowledge of the identity of the territory. The realizationof new functions to be allocated to be abandoned countries came thereforerepresent a fundamental experimentation in a vision, at the same times, oftaking care of the “historical places” and of its fruition. The restoration ofthe village then returns the value to a forgotten, neglected site to give newimpetus to the principles of conservation of the historical landscape and ofthe material culture. Among the villages studied in particular, the ancientvillage of Precacore, near Samo, in the province of Reggio Calabria. Thecurrent state of the village and of the entire area, of considerable historicaland architectural interest, is particularly degrading. The restoration projectforesees the urban fabric relief, on the one hand to first step to elaboratea certainly conservative restoration project, but at the same time projectedtowards a project of architecture and enhancement of the existing and itssustainable use, keeping account of a strong identity characterization not tobe missed.
