Syllabus

Course Objectives

Information, data, and quantitative models increasingly characterize modern decision-making processes. Knowing how to effectively interpret and read the data available to a company and create appropriate models for identifying optimal strategies is often the key to greater competitiveness. Business Analytics refers to the skills, technologies, and methods that enable the analysis of both current and past business performance data in order to guide decision-making and planning. The course provides a broad introduction to Business Analytics, allowing students to become familiar with various types of problems and the quantitative methods that are most commonly used in solving economic and management problems and developing decision-making strategies. An application-oriented approach will be favored. Specific attention will be given to the practical implementation of the proposed methodologies through software packages commonly used in business practice (Excel), an introduction to the use of Python with applications to managerial cases in the field.
