Syllabus

Course Objectives

Knowledge and understanding of the main building test sequences according to Italian and international standards

Knowledge and understanding applied in at least one test sequence in architecture;

Making judgements of the quality of the test sequence;

Communication skills: basic skills in communicating the contents of the tests

Learning skills through observation of the built environment. Environmental Sustainability

Awareness of the Designer's Environmental Responsibility


Course Prerequisites




Basic knowledge of the project theme and of the materials and components for architecture


For the prerequisites, refer to the Teaching Regulations


Teaching Methods

Distributed for the hours of frontal teaching (10 hours = 1 cfu) (as per register)

Contents

Ability to contribute to the formation of a new construction culture, ability to mend the separation between the

ideational moment and the realization moment.

The course is intended to be an applied experience of technological design, built on the assumption that this conceptual-

operational process cannot be based on the "autonomous and separate" conception of the project. An experience useful for understanding the

building cycles and how technological responsibility intervenes in the design process. Specific objective of the course is to make

acquire knowledge of the social role of the designer and the relationships that are established in the construction of architecture, between

form and content, between environmental and social purposes, between the use of materials and their performance, between the logic of functions, structural reasons,

ecological compliance and energy efficiency.

In order to achieve the expected results for the course program and the proposed experimentation, the teaching offer articulated in the

different activities pursues the following

Qualifying educational objectives: Recognition of the main Technologies for Architecture

- Specific Formative Objectives (with reference to the theme of the course/workshop): Drafting of a Short Essay as

Thematic Insight. Development of the year's theme related technology design at the final level.

- Exploration of the DAeD Laboratories, as an opportunity for thematic deepening of the course

- and the detail of BUILDING FUTURE Lab.

The expected qualifying results of the course are: Recognition of the main Technologies for Architecture


- The specific expected results of the course are (with reference to the theme of the course/laboratory): Writing a Short Essay as Thematic In-depth Study. Writing the year's technological design exercise.The theme of the year and the disciplinary and interdisciplinary references Designing with Containers. The discipline will address the topics related to: the Building System. The experimentation is proposed to design Housing with Containers. Identify a class of temporary users. Propose a program for the experimentation. Realize the project
