Contents

The course is ideally organized in four main sections. First one concerns general measurements topics, the theory of mistakes, measurements units, metric samples. After that, the characterization of passive analogic instruments is faced, in static and dynamic conditions, and a close examination of main instruments, voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, impedance measurers, frequency meters, multimeters, oscilloscopes and spectrum analysers. The concepts of noise, grounding and shields are as well introduced. The third part of the course is devoted to digital logic, sampling, conversion and transmission of digital signals and an overview of digital instruments. Finally, the course will deal with sensors, their classification and main related physical effects.
