Syllabus

Course Objectives

The aim of the course is to provide the basic knowledge necessary to deal with thermodynamic, energy and plant engineering problems. To this end, it includes the discussion of technical thermodynamics, electrical and mechanical energy production cycles, thermal energy production cycles

Assessment Methods

The achievement of the specific training objectives envisaged will be ascertained through an oral test, consisting of the resolution of two problems which will require the determination of the characteristic parameters of steam and gas thermodynamic cycles, and an interview on the topics of the program of the course, aimed at verifying knowledge of the concepts acquired, as well as communication and presentation skills with adequate scientific language. Access to the interview is only possible if the problem test is passed with a minimum score of 18/30. The final grade will be assigned by adopting the following evaluation criterion:

Insufficient: insufficient knowledge of the topics covered during the course

18 - 20: basic knowledge of the main topics of the course and of the technical language, sufficient interpretative ability, limited ability to apply the knowledge acquired

21 - 23: adequate knowledge of the course topics, sufficient language skills, correct interpretative ability and autonomous application of knowledge for problem solving

24 - 25: good knowledge of the topics, good command of language, correct and confident interpretative ability, correct ability to apply most of the knowledge for solving problems

26 - 29: complete and in-depth knowledge of the topics, full ownership of language, complete and effective ability to interpret and autonomously apply knowledge to solve problems

30 - 30 cum laude: complete, in-depth and critical knowledge of the topics covered during the course, excellent knowledge of technical language, original interpretative ability, full ability to autonomously apply knowledge to solve problems.
