The research focuses on the interactions between technological capital (infrastructure and technology), human capital (researchers, businesses, professionals, users, etc.), entities (institutions, universities, managers, etc.), real estate (public and/or private assets).
It operates in line with the directives of the Digital Agenda and Industry 4.0. It adopts the contents of S3 Calabria 2014-2020, Regional Strategy for Innovation and Intelligent Specialization.
In this context, the research develops R&D, Research and Development actions, finalizing its activities towards the experimentation of innovative tools and methods for the governance of real estate assets. The result, the Maintenance Management Model, exploits the potential of Information Communication Technology, ICT, and in particular of BIM, Building Information Modeling, interoperability systems.
It uses technologies already available, with high added value in terms of information content, still unpublished for the Maintenance sector (OpenBIM and Industrial Foundation Classes, IFC, Augmented Reality, Semantic Web, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Building Automation).
It promotes an active dialogue between the parties involved and innovative methods of data management, also configuring itself as an "observatory" of the phenomena that characterize the transformations over time of building parts, components and products, of their functioning and their ways of use.
For the study, prototyping, patenting, testing and marketing of the aforementioned Maintenance Management Model, whose level of technological maturity can be assimilated to a TRL 6 (i.e. "technology demonstrated in a relevant environment"), it obtains additional funding under the Smart&Start Italia incentive program of Invitalia spa pursuant to the Ministerial Decree of 24 September 2014 and subsequent amendments.
