Orlando Campolo is associate professor of general and applied entomology (scientific sector AGRI-05/A) at the Department of Agriculture - Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria. He holds a degree in Agricultural Science and Technology from the same university and a Ph.D. in Plant Protection Technologies from the University of Catania.

His main areas of research include the synthesis and evaluation of bio-insecticides, the development of nano-formulations, and the analysis of entomological biodiversity. Author of over 150 publications in national and international scientific journals, he holds editorial roles as a Subject Editor for the Journal of Pest Science and as an Associate Editor for Ecotoxicology, Entomologia Generalis, and Insects.
In addition to his research activities, he is involved in teaching courses in Agricultural Entomology, Biological and Integrated Control, and Beekeeping, and has supervised numerous undergraduate and PhD theses. He coordinates research units in projects and collaboration agreements, actively contributing to the development of innovative solutions for crop protection.
