Fotografia, tra oblio e ricostruzione del complesso del Monte di Pietà di Messina

The Pawnshop palace in Messina, designed by Na- tale Masuccio and built starting in 1616, was se- verely damaged by the 1908 earthquake. Currently remains only the facade of the ground floor and some rooms behind. The aim of this re- search is to introduce some of the computing power in the field of "digital reconstruction of ar- chitecture" for documentation, recovery and the "conscious use" of architecture severely degraded or compromised compared to its original configu- ration.
The reading of the monument, intended as a doc- ument, has allowed us a comparison between photography and survey to retrace, through oper- ations analysis and breakdown of the parties, the three phases of a project more recognizable to many hands of his long and troubled history.
