Disegni di una città moderna: la Cortina del Porto di Messina

Survey and representation of the Cortina del Porto di Messina led to the critical reading of architecture: on the one hand the consistency of the form and structure, on the other the spatiality and the intangible aspects of light and color, the perceptive effect of urban image. The measure, which give rhythm to the rule and texture of the facades, makes it possible to evaluate linguistic rules and exceptions. It is in the repetition of the architectural elements that emerge the exceptions, the variations, little displacements not visible. It is in the synthetic and symbolic sign of the representation that the elements of architecture appear clearer than the complexity of the real.
