abstract:
The proposal is configured as a strategy, whose progressive implementation opens up to multiple scenarios that will materialize and can be declined in line with the changing expectation and needs of society and the city. The infrastructural regeneration of the urban system in which the complex of Via Medici del Vascello is located is dealt with the recent European policies and those of the city of Milan in which the “grey” solutions must evolve into the multi-functional logic of the Green and Blue infrastructures. The most visible action consists in the re-use of the excavated soil deriving from the connection between the new via Paullese and via Varsavia, as well as for the construction of Santa Giulia Nord, for the construction of a green “hill” system that allows to overcome the bundle of railway tracks. In thi way, also acting on via Toffetti, it would be possible to create a green corridor between the area of Porto di Mare and the Park of Santa Giulia, helping to structure an important part of the new green connections that play a central role in the vision of Milan 2030. The new network structure built with green infrastuctures will allow to enhance the results of specific interventions on existing and new buildings. In fact, such interventions will acquire a role in a wider system of physical and immaterial connections, returning to being part of a complex urban system with alternating functions, easy accessibility and flows of people, information and relationship.
