abstract:
The oasis towns give rise to an analysis where the descriptive process of the investigation shows
the centrality of a mass of the architectural debris which characterize the frameworks, and at the same
time, highlighting the loss of an urban morphology based on a functional, symbolic, constructive and
mostly formal subjects, but totally illegible. Except for the Nefta town.
Beginning to live again every town must become a new narrative text, not only because the archaeological
system is based on the research or preserving, but its final result is the inevitable disappearance.
But every town must change in a place where the life is developed in the centuries for an original
principle of sustainability between nature and device, people and resources of the place, the oasis lives
in a quiet and accomplice relationship and so much to be even after the dissolution.
The main theme of these considerations is given by the new role of the urban systems suggesting
new lines of approach, it searches a new reading “to inhabit” recognizing its only “collective spirit”.
We wanted to decline these unique urban forms.
On the one hand, in this narrative act the uniqueness expresses the individual identity of every
urban form, but at the same time, it shows the dynamism of different urban writings established by
the tectonic values for each town.
These writings are deposited in a symbolic sediment in the ground where every urban form is
established tectonically, and contemporaneously, it is already disappeared and brought back to the
archetype not being able to change apart some of its current visible elements.
