This work examines the oration of Julius Caesar to Ilerda (Spain) on 49 BC, never before studied, in which the dictator impeachs polemically Pompey of violating constitutional legality of the res publica, by engaging behaviors that, a little later, Caesar himself will implement and, much later, will be also behaved by Augustus in the construction of the new status reipublicae
