On 1969 Giuseppe Samonà participated in the International Competition for the crossing of the Strait of Messina. On this occasion he draws up a series of preparatory sketches for the final solution of the Pylon and Bridge design. The Pylon designed by Samonà is an inhabited architecture and not just a structural element.
