abstract:
In the paper a new solution for calculating the set-up for random wind generated waves is drawn. The set-up is the maximum raising of the mean water level. To obtain the new expression of the set-up for progressive and random waves we were used the sea states theory. The study case are referred to four location with wave buoy: Ortona, along the Adriatic Sea, Ponza, in the Tyrrenian Sea, Catania on the oriental coast of the Sicily and Alghero, on the western coast of the Sardinia.
