Palazzo de Nobili a Catanzaro: da palazzo nobiliare a sede municipale (1863)

In the aftermath of the Unification of Italy, the Catanzaro City Council, among several impellencies to be addressed, had to find its own headquarters. After several searches, it was decided to purchase Palazzo De Nobili, owned by the city's ancient noble family, which could meet the needs of the administration. The purchase was concluded in 1863, despite legal disputes triggered that would be resolved decades later. The palace underwent several interior and exterior reconfigurations, which in successive phases lasted until the mid-20th century.
