abstract:
The essay briefly focuses the historical and legal process that characterized the Age of the Barbarians invasions, with particular reference to Italy. In those Age, indeed, the Christian Church and its religious belief/creed were seriously endangered by the invaders: the dramatic conflict situation led to a revitalization of the political initiative of the Christian Church, as result of the early mediation of the Pope with the invading armies.
