Necropolis of Chellah is located in the district of Rabat, called Cité
Khalifa, about 2.5 kilometers southeast of medina. Funerary complex
was built on the site of an ancient Marinid cemetery in use
since 1248. The same cemetery was also built on the ruins of

known as Chellah dating from the III century BC and it was from
this port town that the necropolis Marinid named.
