abstract:
The Fiera di Messina central pavilion, built between 1937 and '38 by Libera and De Renzi, was remodelled after the Second World War bombing by Rovigo, then again in 1948, 1949 and 1953 by Pantano, the only Sicilian architect recognized as "modern" by Sartoris in the "Encyclopédie de l'architecture nouvelle" In spite of the international consecration, the pavilion and the entire exhibition (Fiera di Messina) today lie in the utmost degradation that necessitates a project able to renew and revaluate its space and form.
