Geometrie e proporzioni nelle architetture di Ludovico Quaroni e Francesco Venezia a Gibellina Nuova / Geometries and proportions in the architectures designed by Ludovico Quaroni and Francesco Venezia in Gibellina Nuova

Rebuilt after the Belice earthquake (1968), Gibellina Nuova is a museum-city, home to over sixty works of architectures and contemporary artworks. Despite the use of a markedly modern language, some of them reveal the presence of the geometric matrices and proportional ratios that have been used for centuries in figurative arts. This paper graphically analyses the architectures in which these features become a relevant part of the compositional processes: the Mother Church designed by Quaroni and Anversa and two architectures by Francesco Venezia: the Museum and Secret Garden.
