Ksar Tamzayet is one of three ksour of the Ababsa, a Berber tribe, the other two are Ksar Zahafa and Ksar Laaraf. Ksar Tamzayet, located on a mountain ridge, difficult to reach, has a defensive position. The structure of the mountain ksour, usually, tends to create a closed loop placing the ghorfas close to each other. These latter are the modular element of ksour, and they represent the unit for the storage of grain. The ghorfa is the minimum element of the ksar. It is a place of exclusive property which contains the wheat and other fruits of the land
