Indagine sui principali virus e selezione sanitaria del vitigno ‘Gaglioppo’

The enhancement of the 'Gaglioppo' vine requires the approval of qualified clones that is obtained after a careful genetic and sanitary selection. The sanitary selection conducted in this project included serological (ELISA) and molecular (Multiplex RT-PCR) tests for the detection of the following viruses: Arabis mosaic virus (ArMV), Grapevine fanleaf virus (GFLV), Grapevine leafroll associated virus-1 (GLRaV-1), Grapevine leafroll associated virus-2 (GLRaV-2), Grapevine leafroll associated virus-3 (GLRaV-3), Grapevine virus A (GVA), Grapevine virus B (GVB), Grapevine fleck virus (GFkV). Since the survey revealed the presence of viruses in all samples tested, it was necessary to initiate recovery on the best 'Gaglioppo' biotypes. The activity made possible to deepen the knowledge on the occurrence and spread of the grapevine viruses in the Cirò area and apply techniques of virus recovery that allow to deliver virus-free propagation material to the local and national viticulture.
