Implementazione di un modello per il disegno di reti ecologiche orientato alla gestione funzionale del paesaggio

Nowadays ecological networks are a topical issue both in the research and planning activities supported by the European and National environmental strategies. The main ecological network models reported in literature and adopted in practice, differ according three basic approaches related to the canonic forms of network concept interpretation. The present paper proposes a model helping to define a functional design of an ecological network that by integrating classical methods and directing the choices related to land use transformation in terms of sustainability. The goal is to get a design of the network connection between areas with different degree and type of protection based on biological principles and on the state of the use of the territory. From this point of view it represents a valuable instrument for promoting land uses based on environmental and landscape sustainability and ensuring the restoration of ecological balance.
