Syllabus

Course Objectives

The course aims to provide the student with the fundamental notions of constitutional immigration law.



Course Prerequisites

To take the Immigration Law Clinic exam, you must have adequate knowledge of constitutional law.


Teaching Methods

The course is structured on the analysis of the legislation and some practical cases.



Assessment Methods

The assessment of learning will be based on an oral test.

Intermediate tests can also be scheduled by the teacher.

 

The evaluation will take place

through the following criteria:

- the depth and breadth of

knowledge gained;

- the property of language;

- analytical and argumentative

ability;

- the ability for critical

reflection.

The final evaluation is expressed

in thirtieths, as follows:

 

30 - 30 cum laude - Excellent

 

The student:

 

demonstrates a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of the subject matter: knows the relevant content, uses correct terminology, identifies and explains the main concepts,

integrates personal insights into their summary;

 

demonstrates an excellent understanding of the subject matter: clearly distinguishes between main and supporting ideas, knows how to frame key points, reinforces arguments with references to supplementary material or individual insights, and develops interdisciplinary connections;

demonstrates well-established skills in applying knowledge and analyzing results;

 

explains the subject matter clearly and structuredly: their presentation is organized, logical,

mature, and concise.

 

28 - 29 - Very good

 

The student:

 

demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the subject matter: he/she is familiar with the relevant content, uses correct terminology, and identifies and explains most of the main

concepts;

shows a solid understanding of the subject matter: he/she identifies most of the key points, although he/she does not always clearly distinguish between the main and less important topics; he/she discusses the topics with reference to supplementary material or individual in-depth studies;

demonstrates excellent ability to apply knowledge and analyze results;

explains the subject matter clearly and articulately: his/her presentation is organized, logical, mature, and concise, while allowing for some inaccuracies.

 

25 - 27 - Good

 

The student:

 

demonstrates a broad knowledge of the subject matter: knows, but does not fully explain, the relevant content; uses terminology, but not always precisely; identifies key concepts, but is unable to explain them completely or precisely.

demonstrates an adequate understanding of the subject matter: identifies important key points, but is unable to fully define them;

demonstrates good ability to apply knowledge;

presents clearly, but not always comprehensively, with schematic organization and sometimes fragmented and repetitive thoughts.

 

22 - 24 - Fair

 

The student:

 

demonstrates an acceptable knowledge of the subject matter: he/she knows most of the content, but has gaps, and shows some confusion regarding some important, though not essential, concepts;

shows a basic understanding of the subject matter: he/she is unable to always frame all of his/her arguments, or sometimes does so inaccurately;

demonstrates a fair ability to apply the fundamental concepts of the subject matter;

expresses his/her arguments correctly, but without a completely clear and coherent structure, sometimes inserting substantive development material.

 

18 - 21 - Sufficient

 

The student:

 

demonstrates limited knowledge of the subject matter: knows the most relevant content but has numerous gaps, identifies many key concepts but is unable to illustrate them completely and precisely;

demonstrates a basic understanding of the subject matter: has some difficulty distinguishing key points and is unable to always clearly identify them due to incompleteness or

imprecision;

shows uncertainty in applying the fundamental concepts of the subject matter;

expresses his or her language in an unclear and confusing manner, uses language in a poorly organized manner, with fragmented and repetitive thoughts, and does not always use terminology precisely.

 

Insufficient

 

The student:

 

demonstrates poor and fragmented knowledge of the subject matter: lacks knowledge of the essential content, exhibits extensive gaps, and fails to identify key concepts;

shows serious comprehension errors, fails to answer numerous questions, or fails to solve numerous problems; shows errors in applying the fundamental concepts of the subject matter;

- does not reach an acceptable level of articulation of thought relating to the subject matter.
