Course Objectives
3 LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
The course is designed to provide students with the fundamental tools and methodologies for understanding the fascinating world of fashion from a cultural, economic, and design perspective. The course aims to foster creativity in designing an outfit or accessory that will be presented at the end of the year in a fashion show. Students will design and create their own creations individually or in teams, experiencing an opportunity for interaction and socialization. The course is structured around learning by doing and aims to disseminate a culture of entrepreneurship in the social sector and education in the fashion industry.
Expected learning outcomes based on the Dublin Descriptors
1. Knowledge and understanding. At the end of the course, the student should have knowledge and the ability to understand the classic economic theories of fashion applied to contemporary life, new fashion trends after COVID, new sales channels, fashion phenomena generated by films, the fashion product cycle, and brand valuation.

At the end of the course, the student should be able to apply the methodologies described to identified practical cases presented in the form of project work. The topic of the project work, identified by the student, must be related to the program completed. The Cat-Lab, the laboratory of cultural, environmental, and tourist resources http://www.cat-lab.org/officina-creativa/, established in 2007 and directed by Professor Mantovani, supports the project work activities with the possibility of creating student start-ups. All of this is consistent with the objectives of the course as well as those of the so-called "start-ups". transversal skills identifiable in social media marketing and metaverse for more effective promotional action

Teaching Methods

For the best use of the course, the teaching delivery methods are: a) frontal lessons for the methodology. b) laboratory hours (Cat-Lab), in which there will be brain storming to agree and review the projects. c) The program for those attending includes exercises at the mid-point and end of the course. Possibility of seminars. The methods indicated must be consistent (and hopefully linked) with the learning outcomes indicated in the Educational Objectives.
Supplementary learning activities will be supported by the Cat-Lab university laboratory (active at DIGIES since 2007 and directed by Professor Michela Mantovani). Brainstorming sessions and project work reviews are planned.
To empower students, Professor Mantovani has developed a methodology she calls Teaching Friendly (http://www.cat-lab.org/officina-creativa/). This method involves creating an "environment" in which students feel an active part of the university, perceiving it as a place for meeting, developing their skills, and exploring their vocations.
