Syllabus

Course Objectives

1 – (knowledge and understanding)

Starting from the analysis of the phenomenon of migration and the sources on the subject, the course aims to frame the main institutions of multilevel immigration law which specifically concern foreign minors, the international protection system, as well as the main rights of minors and different hypotheses of entry into Italy for family reunification.

At the end of the course the expected result is the ability to examine the concrete cases in which the minor may be involved, identifying the solutions and remedies offered by the law for his protection. In particular, this method will allow students to use their skills in those areas in which any form of planning of educational services for foreign minors will be necessary.

2 – (applying knowledge and understanding)

The student, through the in-depth study of certain institutions of immigration law, will acquire the ability to interpret and apply the legal norms of reference and will develop the ability to find, also through databases, the regulatory sources necessary for the analysis of jurisprudence in the field.

3 – (making judgements)

The student will be able to grasp the legal profiles relating to the main topics addressed during the teaching activities (lessons, exercises, seminars) and will be able to orient themselves in the critical examination of cases and problems that involve legal and non-legal operators in practice. .

4 – (communication skills)

The student will be able to describe and expose the topics and legal problems of the subject, improving their communication skills even in cross-examination with other qualified subjects, starting from institutional ones.

5 – (learning skills)

The student will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to update themselves and independently follow the news of a continuously evolving subject in the future, as demonstrated by the incessant and lasting reforms that have taken place since the approval of the Consolidated Law. on immigration.



Course Prerequisites

There are currently no preparatory courses for this course. However, it may be useful to have knowledge relating to the subject of "Family and minors" and public law in general.


Teaching Methods

The course includes frontal lessons with the active participation of the students who will also be subjected to case studies to be solved in class, during exercises, also with the help of the material inserted by the teacher on the University website and on the website unircost.com

Meetings with industry experts

will be scheduled.

 

Students will be supported in

understanding and interpreting the regulatory text also with the weekly

reception service indicated on the teacher's web page (University website and

www.unircost.com)


Assessment Methods


The assessment of learning will be based on an oral test.

Intermediate tests can also be scheduled by the teacher.

 

The evaluation will take place

through the following criteria:

- the depth and breadth of

knowledge gained;

- the property of language;

- analytical and argumentative

ability;

- the ability for critical

reflection.

The final evaluation is expressed

in thirtieths, as follows:

 

30 - 30 cum laude - Excellent


The student:


demonstrates a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of the subject matter: knows the relevant content, uses correct terminology, identifies and explains the main concepts,

integrates personal insights into their summary;


demonstrates an excellent understanding of the subject matter: clearly distinguishes between main and supporting ideas, knows how to frame key points, reinforces arguments with references to supplementary material or individual insights, and develops interdisciplinary connections;

demonstrates well-established skills in applying knowledge and analyzing results;


explains the subject matter clearly and structuredly: their presentation is organized, logical,

mature, and concise.


28 - 29 - Very good


The student:


demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the subject matter: he/she is familiar with the relevant content, uses correct terminology, and identifies and explains most of the main

concepts;

shows a solid understanding of the subject matter: he/she identifies most of the key points, although he/she does not always clearly distinguish between the main and less important topics; he/she discusses the topics with reference to supplementary material or individual in-depth studies;

demonstrates excellent ability to apply knowledge and analyze results;

explains the subject matter clearly and articulately: his/her presentation is organized, logical, mature, and concise, while allowing for some inaccuracies.


25 - 27 - Good


The student:


demonstrates a broad knowledge of the subject matter: knows, but does not fully explain, the relevant content; uses terminology, but not always precisely; identifies key concepts, but is unable to explain them completely or precisely.

demonstrates an adequate understanding of the subject matter: identifies important key points, but is unable to fully define them;

demonstrates good ability to apply knowledge;

presents clearly, but not always comprehensively, with schematic organization and sometimes fragmented and repetitive thoughts.


22 - 24 - Fair


The student:


demonstrates an acceptable knowledge of the subject matter: he/she knows most of the content, but has gaps, and shows some confusion regarding some important, though not essential, concepts;

shows a basic understanding of the subject matter: he/she is unable to always frame all of his/her arguments, or sometimes does so inaccurately;

demonstrates a fair ability to apply the fundamental concepts of the subject matter;

expresses his/her arguments correctly, but without a completely clear and coherent structure, sometimes inserting substantive development material.


18 - 21 - Sufficient


The student:


demonstrates limited knowledge of the subject matter: knows the most relevant content but has numerous gaps, identifies many key concepts but is unable to illustrate them completely and precisely;

demonstrates a basic understanding of the subject matter: has some difficulty distinguishing key points and is unable to always clearly identify them due to incompleteness or

imprecision;

shows uncertainty in applying the fundamental concepts of the subject matter;

expresses his or her language in an unclear and confusing manner, uses language in a poorly organized manner, with fragmented and repetitive thoughts, and does not always use terminology precisely.


Insufficient


The student:


demonstrates poor and fragmented knowledge of the subject matter: lacks knowledge of the essential content, exhibits extensive gaps, and fails to identify key concepts;

shows serious comprehension errors, fails to answer numerous questions, or fails to solve numerous problems; shows errors in applying the fundamental concepts of the subject matter;

- does not reach an acceptable level of articulation of thought relating to the subject matter.
