Syllabus

Course Objectives

The course program, through its structured learning activities, aims to achieve the following objectives.


Qualifying learning objectives: The course aims to provide knowledge of the fundamental principles of public law.


Knowledge of the principles of public law and their discipline will allow students to navigate the dynamics of the constitutional system, with particular reference to the structure and organization of public powers, the relationship between public and private entities, the relationship between the sources of Italian and European Union law, as well as the mutual relations between the State, Regions, and the European Union.


Specific learning objectives: Knowledge of the course topics will enable students to critically address legal issues and questions by revisiting the concepts learned. Students must therefore demonstrate the ability to apply the concepts learned to concrete cases relating to the dynamics of the constitutional system and the ability to connect different topics in order to develop appropriate solutions to specific problems.


Course Prerequisites

The course does not require any specific educational prerequisites.


Teaching Methods

The course consists of lectures, seminars, and in-depth analysis of legal issues for a total of 24 hours.

The training activities will take place, according to the academic calendar, in the second semester.

1. The State and its relationship with society and the economy.


Rights and freedoms.


Relations between states and with the European Union.


The sources of the Italian legal system.


2. Forms of state and forms of government.


Political parties and popular participation.


Parliament.


Government.


President of the Republic.


Public administration.


Regions, provinces, metropolitan cities, and municipalities.


Judiciary.


Constitutional Court.
