Syllabus

Course Objectives

By the end of the laboratory, students will have acquired the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

  • Knowledge and Understanding: Gain training in behavior assessment techniques during development, aimed at designing psychoeducational interventions and research. Develop the ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with methodological reflections, particularly regarding qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods applied in educational contexts.
  • Ability to Apply Knowledge and Understanding: Deepen knowledge of the differences between the various techniques analyzed and develop a critical sense regarding the strengths and limitations of each.
  • Autonomy of Judgment: Be able to independently select and use techniques to define a psychoeducational project, considering the objectives to be achieved and the constraints of the context.
  • Communication Skills: Acquire a solid command of the specific terminology related to the field. Enhance professional skills in the psychoeducational context, in interactions with children, and in communication with families and all stakeholders in the educational environment.
  • Learning Ability: Develop the capacity to understand the techniques applied to the study and analysis of developmental psychology and early childhood education.



Course Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of developmental and educational psychology.


Teaching Methods

Guided individual and/or group practical exercises.


Assessment Methods

The assessment of the skills acquired during the laboratory will take place through group discussions focused on the practical activities conducted.

Contents

The laboratory is designed to provide students with the necessary tools to understand and assess child development and the individuals involved in its protection during early childhood. Additionally, it will focus on defining and structuring research projects and psychoeducational interventions. Specifically, topics such as observation techniques, shadowing, and various types of interviews will be addressed.
