Indagine etnobotanica nel territorio del Poro e delle Preserre Calabresi (Vibo Valentia, S-Italia)

In this work, the results of an ethnobotanical research carried out in the territory of Vibo Valentia (VV), a province of Calabria (southern Italy), are presented. Aim of this work was to document the traditional uses of wild and cultivated plants for their conservation and reevaluation. 36 people were interviewed in the field to record their ethnobotanical knowledge. 50 plant species were collected and analysed in their uses: the most represented was medicinal uses and plant food ones. Comparing our results with literature from Italy, and in particular from Calabria, very original uses emerged and curious anthropological aspects.
